Hazel

UPDATE May 14.  We were going to run Hazel today but she got spayed yesterday.  This is a friendly husky that would love to be a pet.  If she isn't adopted within a couple of weeks we will get her out to run.

We all LOVE Hazel.  She is an incredibly social and personable girl.  We will run her soon.  I bet she would make a great pet/running companion too.

Phoebe

Update May 14. We ran Phoebe in an 8 dog team.  It was a very warm morning and we started off pretty fast.  Phoebe LOVES to run and pull.  But she is a slower dog that would like to trot a long in a slow recreational team.  She is a sweet girl that could use some diet tips as she is a bit chunky.  On the shy side, Phoebe really warms up quickly.  When we took her out of the team and kept going Don said she screamed and wanted to go with us but he walked her back to the truck.  She is on house C.

Phoebe came in with Delores.  She is the more shy of the 2 but does come up to you for pets.  She needs to loose a little bit of weight and they have both been sled dogs.  Phoebe is 5 years old.  We will get her out soon to run.

Delores

Update May 14.  We ran Delores in an 8 dog team on a warm morning.  She did great.  She could loose a few pounds and got very tired but she runs nicely and likes to go.  She would make a good addition to a slower recreational team.  Delores is on house F.

Delores came in with Phoebe from a kennel that is downsizing.  Both of the girls are chunky and could use some good exercise.  They are both a bit shy but mellow and calm. Deena is 6 years old.  We will run them soon.

Zane

Zane came in as a stray from I believe Chena Hot Springs Road.  He is shy but really wants to warm up to you.  He has an old build and wide set eyes so it will be interesting to see how he runs.  He is on house A and seems quite young.

Deena

Update  Deena was adopted.

Update May 14.  We ran Deena in an 8 dog team.  She did great.  She is a long legged lanky girl who is quite shy.  She is one of these plug in dogs that we almost ignored because she just did her job and did it well.  We tried her in lead but she has no confidence.  With the right person she would become an outstanding addition to a distance team.  Deena is on house E.

Denna is a shy but very very sweet dog.  We all like her.  She needs a gentle hand but I bet she would blossom in the right care.  We will run her soon.

Dradle

Update May 14  We ran Dradle in an 8 dog team on a warm morning.  He started out great but got very hot.  Then we could see his main problems.  We figure that he is probably in pain a lot of the time.  We are disappointed that the ex owner didn't write this on his kennel sheet.  This dog should probably not be a sled dog.  The ex owner said that he fights with other dogs and that he wasn't to be trusted around small children.  My guess is that this dog is in a lot of pain especially during and after a run.  I would be irritable too if I felt as bad as this dog looked.

I think Dradle might make a nice pet.  He warms up to you and likes to get petted.  But I would advice against him being a sled dog.  His back legs don't stretch out and his knees don't really move correctly.  You could just see the pain on his body and face.  If he could just run without pulling I think he would be fine.  He is on house J.

Dradle is 2 years old.  He comes from excellent bloodlines but his ex owner didn't want to feed him all summer.  He is shy and a little rough around the edges.  His coat needs some work.  We will run him soon and see how he does.

Sofie

Update May 14  Sofie is great.  She is a dog that loves to run.  Her body looks a little "short" but she ran fine and has a nice gait.  She is not a sprint dog.  She may be faster in a distance team but she mainly liked to trot along and enjoyed her work.  She likes people and other dogs.  An all around nice girl.  She is on house H.

Sofie is an older girl that loves to run.  Her ex owner says she is quite fast.  She is a very sweet girl with a lot of personality.  She doesn't like chickens though!

We will run her soon.

Token

Update May 14 Token is a very very shy dog.  But she knew all about being a sled dog.  We started her out in wheel.  She has a nice smooth gait and a nice trot.  We put her in lead and she took us all the way back to the truck.  Not with a lot of confidence and she is not used to seeing people along the trail, but she stayed out in front for us.  With a patient hand and a kind word I bet she would blossom into a more confident girl.  She gets along with all other dogs.  She is already spayed.  Token is on house  K.

Token was adopted 6 weeks ago from the shelter but was just returned because the owner said she is petrified of men.  The adopter said that Token was wonderful with her toddler (1.5 years) and friendly with other dogs but just very afraid of men.  So Token is back at the shelter and looking for a woman only home with another dog as a playmate.  We will take her out and run her soon.  Token is only about a year old.

Update.  Ruby is in foster care.  Please check at the front desk if you are interested in her.

Ruby is a pretty little girl that is shy and petite although she is a bit overweight.  She loves to go and knows the whole routine of working in a team.  She has a nice trot and would love to please you as a pet/working dog.  She needs someone with kindness to bring her out of her shell.

Sammy

UPDATE March 31st.  Sammy was pulled into SCL and will be going to her new home in 2 weeks.  Here is a picture of her on my couch.  She is a happy girl and her new name is Tansy.

Sammy is a wonderful smaller distance husky that is personable and LOVES to run.  We had her in a 6 dog team as we harness broke Sissy and Sassy today.  We put Sassy beside her and she was incredibly tolerant of this untrained puppy.  Sammy would make a good rec/distance dog.  She likes to trot and seems to be able to go forever.  We don't know her background or what kennel she came out of but she obviously knows the ropes and is a plug in dog that would be a good addition to any team.
